What you just described has a name. People call it old person smell.
It is not about washing more. After about age 40 your skin starts making a different oil, and that oil turns into a smell. It happens to almost everyone.
There is one more thing almost no one is told. It is the reason your soap has never worked.

Why Soap Has Never Worked
The smell has a name too. It is called 2-nonenal, and it is oily.
Soap is built to wash off sweat and dirt. Those wash away in water. This oil does not, so the soap slides straight past it. You get out clean, and a few hours later the smell is back.
That is why scrubbing harder has not worked. You were never dirty.
Japanese persimmon works a different way. Its tannins grab the oil and break it apart, so the smell is gone instead of covered up with perfume.
